George Soros Brings Progress Back to Politics

The Ferguson Protests were an encapsulating moment in time for the history of the United States. They can truly be considered a sparking point in the global fight for equality and the local fight for social justice throughout America. And, to be honest, it could not have happened without the gentle guiding hand of a billionaire investor by the name of George Soros. Now, if George Soros rings a bell then you might have already had some familiarity with him. For those not in the know, let’s dive in.

George Soros is one of the most impressive and successful investors that the United States has ever seen. Going from a Jewish child living in Nazi-occupied Hungary in his youth to eventually landing in America with the foresight to start his own company, well, Soros’ story is as impressive as it is dramatic. George Soros became a sensation in the investment world thanks to his work with the Soros Fund. He parlayed that success into a worldwide battle for social justice and progressive ideals, starting at home and shifting his focus abroad. The Open Society Foundation is working just as well at home in the United States as it is abroad. In fact, this philanthropic tilt toward social values is what brings us to the Ferguson Protests. Soros donated nearly $33 million to local grass-roots, on the ground political activists living in cities all in and around Ferguson. This funding allowed the Ferguson Protests to go on long even when many members of the mainstream media were trying to shut them down. Without Soros help funding the protests we never would have seen just how ugly the inequality can be between races in America.

Of course, Ferguson isn’t the only place that Soros has made a huge impact. He’s been in the political machine for decades, always pushing to get more progress to politically expedient places. Soros rose to political fame when he backed Al Gore in 2004 but he never went away after Gore’s loss. Soros did however take a sabbatical as he realized it wasn’t right to spend too much money in politics. Money shouldn’t equal speech and that is something that George Soros deeply understands and respects.

However, things changed in 2016 when Donald Trump ran for President of the United States. Realizing just how disastrous a Trump presidency could be, Soros jumped back into the political fray by backing Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. Soros would go on to donate nearly $25 million throughout the 2016 election cycle to progressive causes all throughout the country, including to Super PACs associated with the Clinton campaign. These donations would set up the Democratic Party to really push for important issues even leading up to the 2018 elections that will fundamentally shape the way the United States operate. How Alexandre Gama Found Success In The Advertising Industry.

Alexandre Gama is a highly successful businessman in Brazil. He is the advertising and propaganda industry and began his career in 1982 when he was a writer for the advertising agency Standart Ogilvy. His startup, Tempus has already made strides in the field by launching a program that will see it gather therapeutic and genomic data from 1,000 breast cancer patients.

Speaking at a recent Fortune Brainstorm Health Conference that was held in San Diego, Eric Lefkofsky revealed there is a lot of patient data in the public domain but what is missing is sources which can combine data from a patient’s genome sequence and that of their response to various therapies.

Therapeutic data on the response of different patients to different treatments is as equally important as data on the genome structure. Medical professionals need to know why multiple patients respond differently to the same therapy. Could it be because they are already dealing with other medical conditions? Or is it because of the DNA or RNA makeup in their genes? Such question can only be answered by big data that is analyzed to provide patterns that could give useful insights.

According to Eric Lefkofsky, for a group of breast cancer patients who are under the Herceptin therapy, a researcher needs to establish why the treatment has varying success rates in different patients. If one needed genome sequence and therapeutic data of a patient, they would require a grant and a window period of not less than 90 days before they can lay their hands on this precious data.These data bottlenecks make the work of oncologists very hard. Eric Lefkofsky is keen on bridging this information and data gap.

Outside of his luxurious approach to modernism, Mishaan has a real standard that he has to live by when he is designing for clients. Mishaan particularly hates it when clients only opt for the most expensive options around. Mishaan says, “I don’t like it when someone walks away from something because it’s not expensive enough.” Mishaan believes that you can have expensive tastes without actually spending a ton of money. Mishaan goes on to say, “I think it’s really more about having an eye than having a certain amount of money.”


No matter where you stand with your concept of interior design chic, you have to admit that Richard Mishaan is making serious changes to the industry. In an industry dominated by the one percent, Mishaan is making his name and changign the way everyone thinks about their work.
